Susan Gardner
I love being a therapist because I enjoy helping people recover from life challenges, and fulfill their potential. I am continually motivated by seeing people grow, heal and feel more secure and confident. My goal is to provide a space for people to develop their abilities and strengths, to overcome life challenges.
I am a good listener, and it is important to me for clients to feel heard and understood. I invite regular feedback during sessions to ensure client’s are able to communicate their needs and wants related to their objectives in therapy. I work to provide a nonjudgmental space for clients to feel safe processing thoughts and feelings.
I provide a strength-based, client-centered approach, and make every effort to provide a safe and welcoming space for clients to feel free of judgment and important in the collaborative focus of working toward client goals. I work to engage clients with deeper parts of themselves to make the process meaningful and engaging.
I believe that people have the ability to change, and love working with people to achieve their highest potential. I have a curiosity for putting myself in other’s shoes, to understand and hold people in high regard. I believe strongly in balance, healthy living, and a positive outlook, to counteract challenges and struggles. I am “the eternal optimist” in believing that people can improve their lives and increase well-being.
