Starting therapy can feel intimidating and vulnerable—it takes immense courage to seek support, especially from someone you don’t yet know. My goal is to demystify and destigmatize the therapy process so we can walk together toward healing, growth, and self-discovery. In our work, we’ll explore the challenges you’re facing and identify what might be keeping you stuck. You’ll be met with warmth, curiosity, and compassion as we co-create a space that honors your full, intersectional self and empowers you to live more authentically. I work with individuals across the lifespan, and I especially enjoy supporting children, teens, and families. For young children, I use play therapy as a developmentally appropriate approach that allows them to express feelings, process difficult experiences, and build coping skills through play. With teens and families, I offer a space to navigate identity development, life transitions, and family dynamics with empathy and cultural responsiveness. I also collaborate with parents and caregivers to strengthen relationships and promote emotional connection. In addition to individual and family therapy, I work with couples navigating communication difficulties, disconnection, and relationship challenges. I provide a supportive and affirming environment for partners of all backgrounds and relationship configurations to explore their needs, repair trust, and strengthen their bond. My practice is rooted in a culturally responsive, anti-oppressive framework that affirms the lived experiences of BIPOC, Latinx, LGBTQ+ individuals, immigrants, and others with marginalized identities. I’m particularly passionate about supporting clients who are navigating intergenerational trauma, racial trauma, and systemic oppression. I also deeply value working with men and masculine-identified individuals, especially those who have internalized messages that discourage vulnerability and emotional expression. Creating space for these clients to heal and grow has been one of the most meaningful parts of my work. Together, we’ll create a space where your experiences are seen and your story is honored—where you feel empowered to grow into the fullest, most liberated version of yourself.

Hi, I’m Albertina, but most call me Tina. First, I want to say thank you for being here. Taking the time to look for a therapist is a huge first step, and I’m glad you’re taking it. I am a licensed therapist dedicated to helping people navigate life’s transitions, ongoing stress, and relationship challenges without feeling completely overwhelmed. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, trauma, or the heavy weight of a major life change, I provide a space where you can finally feel heard and supported. Think of me like a "Big Sister" in your corner, someone who is going to listen, keep it real with you, and support you as you figure things out. My approach is collaborative and solution focused. Together, we’ll work on: • Strengthening your communication skills. • Developing practical coping strategies for everyday life. • Building resilience and self-awareness. • Creating lasting change that actually aligns with your personal goals and values. I believe therapy should fit your needs, not the other way around. Our sessions can be as formal or as casual as you need them to be to feel successful. My personal mission is to change the world one person at a time, and I’d love to see if you’re that person today. Reaching out can feel difficult when you’ve been carrying so much on your own, but you don’t have to navigate this alone. You don’t have to have it all together here. Just come as you are, and we will work together to help you become the person you wish to be.

Great to meet you! Welcome to Ascend!! I have worked with students, adults and families for almost 30 years as a therapist, school-based counselor and social worker. Through these experiences, I have the expertise to help students navigate life challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, career transitions & cultural identity. I help students understand how distorted perceptions and thoughts can contribute to painful feelings and unwanted behaviors, and we focus not only on understanding your thoughts and emotions, but also on building real-life skills you can use every day to manage stress, improve relationships and feel more confident. I am passionate about assisting students to achieve their goals and enhance their overall quality of life. My style is humorous, honest, and real. I believe therapy works best when you can be your authentic self, and sometimes that means laughing together even when we're doing serious work. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic therapy, and Strength-Based approaches while also meeting you where you are. During our therapy journey, you can expect a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly and be your authentic self. We'll talk about what brought you in, what's been weighing on you, and what you're hoping will change. I'll ask questions to understand your story, challenges, strengths and goals for treatment. My goal is to help you become the best version of yourself and to create new and better normals. You can expect honesty, humor when appropriate, and real talk about what it takes to move forward. Success is for you to leave our first session feeling supported, hopeful, and clear about the path forward. Remember: keep moving, one step at a time. I provide unconditional support while gently challenging you to grow and successfully complete your goals. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or feeling unproductive, I am here to walk alongside you while helping you feel empowered, gain knowledge, understanding, and confidence. Aside from providing therapy, I am married and the father of three daughters, two in college and one in high school. I enjoy writing, making music, consulting, mentoring, and spending time with family and friends. I love learning and meeting new challenges, and I am continually looking for ways to grow and develop a healthier understanding of myself, others, and the world. Let's Ascend!

I work with adults navigating eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, self-worth, OCD, and perfectionism. Whether it's food, your body, uncertainty, or impossible standards, your mind may spend most of its energy trying to solve, control, or get it just right. Together, we'll work to understand the patterns that no longer serve you, so they no longer have to shape your life. You don't need to have the right words or even know exactly where to start. My goal is to create a space where you don't have to filter or perform.

"You deserve the BEST. You do have CHOICES. Your choices should bring you PEACE." This is the foundation on which "Dr. Kay" builds and what helped her thrive after battling major depression in college. Initially failing in her major and being forced to withdraw with an emergency mental health leave, Dr. Kay is familiar with battling the unresolved past and pressing toward hopes for the future. Dr. Kay thrives with "young folk" who are seeking to be heard, understood and healed within this unique space.

Hi, I’m Dr. Ed Delgado-Romero —psychologist, father, professor, and lifelong advocate for social justice in higher education and mental health. For nearly 30 years, I’ve dedicated my career to breaking down barriers—especially for those who’ve been marginalized, dismissed, or treated as “other.” Whether in my work as a counseling center psychologist, a university professor, or a mentor to the next generation of culturally responsive therapists, my passion has remained the same: to help people feel seen, supported, and empowered in spaces that haven’t always welcomed them. In therapy, I believe that a healthy process leads to healthy outcomes. It can be hard to thrive when you’re constantly navigating invalidating or oppressive environments. I work alongside my clients to help them reconnect with their sense of purpose, rediscover inspiration, and reclaim their idealism—even when cynicism or burnout starts to creep in. I also believe deeply in the transformative power of therapy because I’ve experienced it myself. Like many, I hesitated to ask for help at first, but the support of trusted therapists truly changed my life. That’s why I bring warmth, honesty, and authenticity into the room. I understand the stigma some folks carry about therapy, and I honor the strength it takes to show up. I’m continually inspired by my clients’ resilience, insight, and creativity.

I work with college students who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, overthinking, panic symptoms, or difficulty focusing, especially during high-pressure academic or life transitions. Many of my clients feel mentally exhausted, easily triggered by stress, or frustrated by not being able to function the way they know they can. My approach is intentional, structured, and results-focused. I take time to understand your symptoms in detail and create a clear plan that may include medication management, practical strategies, and support with sleep, focus, and emotional regulation. I prioritize both immediate symptom relief and long-term stability, so you can feel more calm, clear, and in control of your daily life. You can expect straightforward communication, thoughtful care, and a provider who takes your concerns seriously. This may be a good fit if you’re ready for real support and a plan that actually helps you move forward.
